Message from Executive Director Buddy Rizer:
Loudoun County has always been a place where people look out for one another. Resilience isn’t just a buzzword here - it’s part of who we are. In tough times, we don’t sit on the sidelines. We step up, just like we did during the pandemic, to make sure our community stays strong.
Right now, as economic uncertainty looms for our federal workers, we’re not going to wait and see - we’re taking action through the Loudoun Resilience Initiative. With the support of our Board of Supervisors, the Economic Development Authority, and the Economic Development Advisory Commission, we’re putting real solutions in place to help those affected. Because when one part of our workforce is struggling, it impacts all of us. Stability, security, and economic prosperity in Loudoun depend on making sure our community has the support it needs.
And support doesn’t just mean finding a new job. This is also an opportunity to explore different career paths, including entrepreneurship. Loudoun has long been a place where great businesses start, scale, and soar, and for those looking to take control of their future, we’re here to help. Our upcoming Small Business Summit is a great place to begin that journey, offering resources, inspiration, and connections to help turn ideas into successful ventures.
We know Loudoun’s workforce is the backbone of our economy. That’s why we’re working alongside our partners to create a safety net that provides real relief and long-term stability. Whether through resources, programs, or direct assistance, we’re committed to doing the hard work to weather this storm together.
We’ll continue to listen, adapt, and lead with a proactive mindset - because that’s what Loudoun does. We rise to the challenge, we support our people, and we come out stronger on the other side. Loudoun County is built on determination, and we will continue to rise to the challenge for everyone who calls this community home.
All my best,
Buddy
