Cyber Compass: Navigating Loudoun's Industry Events and News

Jess's Thoughts: Hi! I'm Jessica Park, Business Development Manager for Cybersecurity at Loudoun Economic Development. Every month, we bring together the cybersecurity community at Loudoun CyberTech to hear from industry leaders, make connections, share ideas, and shape the future of cybersecurity.

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most about the cybersecurity industry is that while technology is at the center of what we do, people are at the center of why we do it. The tools, platforms, and innovations are critical, but it’s the leaders behind them who build strong teams, navigate uncertainty, and inspire confidence when challenges arise.

Each month at Loudoun CyberTech, I’m reminded of this as I look around the room. We are fortunate to have an incredible community of cyber professionals, founders, executives, practioners, and emerging leaders who generously share their experiences, insights, and lessons learned. The conversations that happen before and after our spotlight presentations are often just as valuable as the presentations themselves, creating connections that strengthen both individuals and our broader ecosystem.

As Loudoun’s cyber cluster continues to grow, leadership skills like communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and trust building are becoming just as important as technical expertise. The strongest organizations are built by leaders who understand both technology and people.

This month, we’re excited to explore the human side of cybersecurity leadership with Stacey Champagne. Her perspective serves as a great reminder that while technology may help us defend against threats, it is people who ultimately drive resilience, innovation, and success!

AI Agents and the Aging Population in Loudoun: A Security and Usability Gap in the Making

Cyber Post June 2026

Adults 50+ control 70% of disposable income in the United States and represent the fastest-growing segment of new smartphone users. Yet as Agentic AI moves into consumer products, this demographic is at risk of being an afterthought, once again.
